IGNOU Online MA Admission process will start soon for the January 2026 academic session. Online MA Programme is offered with various disciplines like English, Sanskrit, etc. This programme is delivered completely through Online mode, which means students are not required to go university for assignments submission or exams. All interested students can apply through the official website of IGNOU by filling out an application form. Only eligible students can apply.The Application Procedure is completely online. Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU Online MA Admission
All interested candidates are required to complete eligibility criteria otherwise their application procedure can become null and void. There could be some specific eligibility depending on discipline. Common and basic eligibility for students is that they should have bachelor’s degree from a recognised board of University.
Also DEB ID is an essential requirement as every student who want to pursue an Online or ODL degree need to have DEB ID at the time of filling application form. Students can create one through official UGC DEB portal. Common Eligibility – Candidates must have an Undergraduate degree from recognised University board with at least 55% minimum aggregate marks. Reserved category students get relaxation in minimum marks and need only 50% marks.

- Step 1: Go to official website of IGNOU or directly go to the Online admission portal link www.ignouiop.samarth.edu.in/.
- Step 2: Register as a new user and create an account by mentioning basic details. You will receive your credentials of Username & password on registered mail.
- Step 3: Login now using those credentials and choose the specialization you want to pursue Online MA degree in.
- Step 4: Start filling application form with all required details that includes academic qualifications and personal information.
- Step 5: Upload relevant documents in scanned format and then pay required fees. Download filled in application form and check mail for application submission.

IGNOU Online MA Admission Cancellation Policy
IGNOU has admission cancellation policy for cases where students change their mind and decide to withdraw from admission. They get a refund as per the University rules and regulations. No student will get a refund of the application fee.
- Cancellation before admission confirmation – Students will get a complete refund of their fee.
- Cancellation after admission confirmation – Students will get a refund after 15% of programme fee deduction and a Rs. 2000 ceiling.
- Cancellation after end of last admission date – Students will not be refunded any amount of fee.
- Students with scholarship policy – Students who got scholarships cancels their admission, then they will get only development fee refund.
IGNOU Online MA Scholarship Available
IGNOU does not have its own scholarship programme. Though it makes sure to financially support its students. All eligible students who have got confirmation of their admission can apply for Government of India scholarship through National Scholarship Portal. They can get a scholarship on the basis of their class category, merit and financial condition.
