IGNOU DELEd Admission 2026: IGNOU will start admission soon for D.El.ED (Diploma in Elementary Education) programme, which is a 1-year Diploma course and is UGC approved. The admissions will be opened for January 2026 session. Untitled Permanent Teachers who have passed their 10+2 from a recognised board can apply through official website. Total Programme fees is Rs. 3,000 excluding application fee and development fee. This course is offered to teachers who aim to develop their teaching skills and want a certificate in this field. There is no confirmed starting date of admission but it is expected to be 15 December 2025*. Eligible students can go and apply through official website of IGNOU.

IGNOU DElED Admission 2026

IGNOU DELED admission process will start soon for the January 2026 academic session. Those who want to apply for D.El.ED programme, must fulfill eligibility criteria as they should be 10+2 passed with 2 years of teaching experience. Application fee of Rs 300 will have to be paid at the time of submitting form. Admission procedure is completely online. Students can go to official website of IGNOU or directly apply from its admission portal. The tentitive starting date of admission is 15 December 2025*. Programme is delivered in English and Hindi medium. Students are advised to see all the information on official website before enrolling. 

Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU DELED Admission 2026

Applicants must know that eligibility criteria for D.El.ED programme is different from other programmes. Those who are interested must be 10+2 passed from a recognised educational board with minimum 55% of aggregate marks. They should also have minimum 2 years of work experience as a teacher at the time of submitting application formApplicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC/other category will get relaxation of 5% marks in their 10+2. Every applying applicant should also have DEB ID, which is required for OL and ODL prpgrammes. There is no minimum or maximum age limit. Students can apply through official website or admission portal.

D.El.ED is a 1-year programme with reasonable fees. IGNOU offers all programmes in budget friendly fees. Scholarship Policy

Students can apply for National Government of India Scholarship policy only after their admission status got confirmed by IGNOU. They can apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). 

IGNOU DElED Admission Application Procedure 2026

  • STEP 1: Visit official website of IGNOU or its admission portal, www.ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/. 
  • STEP 2: Create a username and password by registering under ‘New User’. Save those credentials for further use. 
  • STEP 3: Re-login with saved credentials and start filling application form.
  • STEP 4: Fill in all mandatory fields with your personal and academic details. 
  • STEP 5: Now upload scanned documents that are relevant and required.
  • STEP 6: Pay applicable fees and submit form. Download filled in application form for future use. 

There will be no immediate enrollment in programme. Every university first verify and check application form and then sends admission confirmation mail to selected candidates.

IGNOU DElED Admission Status

Students can check their admission status after 10 to 40 working days from the date of submission of application form. They can do so by following few very simple and easy steps

  • Step 1: Go to official website of IGNOU
  • Step 2: Click on ‘Students Services’ menu
  • Step 3: Then scroll down and click on ‘Know your Status’ option
  • Step 4: Put your enrollment number and programme code. Fill the Captcha code.
  • Step 5: Your status will be in front of you
  • Step 6: If it shows admission status as pending or rejected, kindly check your mail. You can also contact to your regional centre regarding doubts or issues. 

Kindly NOTE: IGNOU has discontinued the programme delivery of D.El.ED in 2019. Since then, there has been no update regarding this. IGNOU does not offer this programme anymore. 

IGNOU DELED Evaluation & Examination Pattern

IGNOU has split its evaluation pattern in two parts. One consists of internal assignments that has 30% weightage of final result and another consists of Term End Examination that has 70% weightage of final result. Assignments are submitted at allotted study centre and is mandatory to submit if want to appear for TEE. TEE are held at exam centre which students choose while submitting examination form.
