IGNOU BTech Admission 2026: IGNOU will soon open its admission window for various courses like UG Courses, PG Courses, Diplomas, and Certificates. Bachelor of Technology (BTech) is a 4-year Undergraduate course which has various specialisations like Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and many more. Students must be passed 10+2 from science stream. Total course fees is approximately around Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 15 lacs. Interested students can apply online through official website of the University by paying an application fee of Rs. 300. 

Universities usually conduct an entrance test as well to provide admission in this course. The starting expected date of admission in BTech programme is 15 December 2025* for the January session. For more information, students are required to read complete article.

IGNOU BTech Admission 2026

IGNOU offers admission in two academic sessions which is January and July. IGNOU BTech admission will start soon for the January 2026 session. All students fulfilling eligibility criteria can apply through official website after paying registration/application fee. The starting date of admission is expected to be 15 December 2025* at IGNOU. Application fee of Rs. 300 is compulsory to pay and will not be refunded later, not even at the time of admission cancellation. Students are required to pass entrance test too.

B.Tech is a technical course and UGC does not allow this programme to be delivered in Open and distance learning mode. IGNOU does not offer B.Tech but it offers other eligible courses approved by UGC DEB like BCA, BBA, BA, B.Com, etc. 

Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU BTech Admission 2026

All students must fulfill eligibility criteria as decided by University if they want to apply for admission in B.Tech programme.

• Academic Eligibility: Students must have passed their 10th and 12th from recognised educational board with at least 50% marks or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as their main subjects.
• Entrance Exam: Students have to qualify relevant entrance exam in engineering  which could be state level entrance exam, University entrance test, or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
• Age Criteria: There is no such minimum or maximum age criteria required by Universities or Institutions. 

Students belonging to reserved categories gets relaxation of 5% marks in their 10+2 minimum marks. They also get relaxation in minimum marks as specified by universities for entrance exam. 

IGNOU BTech Admission Fee Structure 2026

B.Tech programme fees is not particular and varies from university to university depending on various factors like University rank, public or central and its popularity. Average fees of B.Tech fall around INR 1,00,000 per year. Apart from this, there are other fees levied by Universities as application fee, development fee, exam fee, etc.

Students have the option to pay fees through online payment mode (credit card, debit card, netbanking, UPI) or by Demand Draft (DD).

• Step 03: Access application form and start filling it will all required details (personal & academic)
• Step 04: Upload all required documents as a documentary of proof
• Step 05: Preview your application form one last time and submit form after paying application fee
