IGNOU BPP admission process will start soon for the January 2026 academic session. It is a 6-month course approved by UGC. Candidates do not require any formal educational qualification. This programme is made in focus for students who want to complete their 12th qualification to be eligible for higher education. IGNOU BPP Admission 2026

IGNOU offers admission in ODL programmes twice a year, in January and July, in various UG/PG courses. IGNOU BPP admission will start soon for the January 2026 academic session. Bachelor’s or Preparatory Programme is a 6-month UG course. Its admission is going to open soon by IGNOU for their January 2026 session. A candidate can apply after filling the application form, which has a mandatory fee of Rs. 300. Only eligible candidates can apply here in both offline and online modes.

This programme is delivered through ODL mode. Candidates can with apply through the official website of University or through offline mode by visiting IGNOU regional centre. A student help desk will be set up at regional centres to help students with their application procedure. The starting date to apply for admission is expected to be December 15, 2025*. 

Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU BPP Admission 2026

There is no formal academic qualification required as such to pass IGNOU’s eligibility requirements. This course was introduced especially for students who do not have a 12th-grade marksheet but want to pursue higher education. Though there is a minimum age requirement. All interested candidates should be at least 18 years old to pursue the BPP Programme. There is no maximum age limit. Candidates can apply both online and offline at their convenience. 

IGNOU BPP Admission Fee Structure 2026

IGNOU has a nominal fees structure for BPP Programme, which is divided into 2 parts: development fee and course fee. There is an application fee as well that needs to be paid by every candidate and is non-refundable. Students from reserved category get relaxation benefits and have to pay only Rs. 150 as application fee, meanwhile General category students need to pay Rs. 300 general fee. • Step 1: Go to the official website or directly to www.ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/. 
• Step 2: Create an account under New Registration. Save credentials after successful registration and log in again with your credentials as an existing user.
• Step 3: Access the application form and start filling with all mandatory personal and professional details required.
• Step 4: Upload documents in support as proof in PDF or JPG format. Documents should be scanned from your original one.
• Step 5: Preview your application form and submit it at the portal after paying the applicable fees. Then, the University will verify your application and once verified, you will get admission confirmation mail.

If applying through offline mode, candidates can go to regional centres with the original copy of all mandatory documents. They can even take help from the student helpdesk organised at centres and can complete the procedure offline. Also, fees will be paid at the time of submitting the application form via cheque or online payment mode.

IGNONU BPP Assignments and Term End Examination

Assignments and Term End Examination (TEE) play a crucial role in Ethe valuation system at IGNOU. Assignments have 30% of weightage and TEE has 70% of weightage for final results. Assignments are a mandatory part of evaluation as students will not be allowed to give exam if they have not submitted their assignments. Students can download assignments from IGNOU website in few easy steps:
