The IGNOU BEd admission process will start soon for the January 2026 session. The Bachelor’s of Education is a 3-year Undergraduate programme which prepares students for an academic career in Education. The tentative starting date of admission is 15 December 2025*. Total Programme fee of BEd is INR 15,000. Interested students can apply through the official website of IGNOU. BEd programme is UGC approved and is accredited with an A++ grade from NAAC. It is delivered in English medium as well as Hindi medium.

About IGNOU

IGNOU is a Public University run by the Central Government. It is one of the most trustworthy and prestigious Universities of India. IGNOU was established in 1985 by an Act of Parliament. It is the world’s largest Open University and is known for providing higher education to multiple groups of students without being biased. IGNOU offers admission in January and July for the 2026 academic session. So, students can take admission in either of these sessions. 

IGNOU BEd Admission 2026-27

IGNOU BEd admission window has not opened yet for the January Academic year 2026. It offers admission in two sessions – January and July. BEd is offered under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP). Those students who are interested in this course can apply once admission starts, by going to Official Website. They need to fill an application form and pay a registration fee. Application fee is compulsory and non refundable. The tentative date of admission starting is going to be 15 December 2025*. Classes will commence from month of January. 

Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU BEd Admission 2026-27

IGNOU does not have any such eligibility that can make admission difficult in BEd. To be eligible for this course, every Interested candidate should have cleared their 12th grade or equivalent from a certified board of education. They do not need to worry about any minimum or maximum age criteria as IGNOU allows students of every age group to study here.

 IGNOU BEd Admission Fee Structure 2026-27

IGNOU offers BEd programme with an affordable fee structure. Besides the programme fee, the Development fee and Registration fee is applicable too which is mandatory to pay. The registration fee is not refundable and mandatory to pay. IGNOU gives relaxation to students from reserved category like Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. General Category Students need to pay Rs. 300 and Reserved Category students need to pay Rs. 150 for registration. Refer to below table for more detailed fee structure:

Students can follow these simple steps if they are finding difficulty in accessing the application form and filling it. It is advised to read all details and instructions carefully.

• Step 1: Go to official website of IGNOU and click on ‘Apply for ODL Program’ under the admission section. You can also directly go to admission portal of IGNOU via clicking here: www.ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. 
• Step 2: Click on ‘New Registration’ and complete registration process, which will create your Username and Password.
• Step 3: You will receive your Username and Password via text message or Email. Relogin to portal as Existing User with provided credentials.
• Step 4: Now fill application form with all required information (Personal details & Academic details)
• Step 5: Now choose programme you want to apply for.
• Step 6: Upload all necessary documents like Your photo, signature, documentary proof, etc.
• Step 7: Preview your form and check all information to avoid any mistakes.
• Step 8: Pay Application and Programme fee through Credit Card, Debit card or Netbanking.
• Step 9: Again Check Preview for any mistake before submission.
• Step 10: Submit your form and download it for future reference

Kindly Note: Every Student should have a DEB ID created. If they do not have one, create one before applying for admission. Also, keep all documents with you at the time of filling application form.

Scholarship Policy For IGNOU BEd Programme 2026-27

IGNOU has numerous Scholarship policies available for Students who are choosing BEd Programme. University offers Scholarship to students on the basis of their Academic performance, their category, and their financial condition with some terms & eligibility. Those who fulfill these terms can apply for Government of India Scholarships on National Scholarship Portal, after confirmation of their admission. 

IGNOU Evaluation System For BEd Programme

IGNOU has a multi-tier system of Evaluation. It has Continuous Evaluation mainly through assignments which includes Teacher marked, Practical assignments and Term End Examination (TEE) which includes Theory Examination and Seminars/ workshops. At IGNOU, it is important to submit assignments to appear in TEE. Assignments have to be submitted at the allotted Study Centre within a given timeframe.
