IGNOU MA admission will begin soon for the January 2026 session. Students fulfilling eligibility criteria can easily apply for admission through official website. All they need to do is fill an application form with correct details. The admission process is completely online and does not require University visit. There is an application form which needs to be paid by every student to successfully complete admission process. Reserved Category students like Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes get concessions in their application/ registration fee. The expected date of starting admission is December 15, 2025*.
Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU MA Admission 2026-27
Candidates who want to take admission in MA Programme at DU must fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned in University guidelines. Every interested student must pass their graduation or its equivalent from a recognised University board. Also, it is required for every student to have a DEB ID if applying for admission. If they do not have one, they can create it before applying.

IGNOU MA Admission Process 2026-27
Follow given steps to experience a smooth application process. Read all instructions mentioned in University guidelines before applying.
- Step 1: Visit Authorized website of IGNOU and click ‘Apply for ODL Programme’ under Admission section or students can directly go to Samarth Admission Portal.
- Step 2: Click on ‘New Registration’ & create your account using personal Email ID and mobile number. Save credentials received on your Email.
- Step 3: Now login through those credentials as an existing user and get access to registration/application form.
- Step 4: Fill application form with all necessary personal details as well as academic details.
- Step 5: In the next step, upload all proof of documents scanned from original documents only.
- Step 6: Review one last time to check for mistakes and rectify it.
- Step 7: Submit your application form. Download filled application form and fee receipt for future reference
- Step 8: Once all details and documents will be verified, IGNOU will send admission confirmation mail on your registered id.

IGNOU MA Admission Cancellation Policy
There is an admission cancellation policy at IGNOU for students who want to withdraw their admission after submitting application form and fee. Students who withdraw applications before confirmation of admission will get a complete refund without any deduction. Students who cancel admission after confirmation gets a refund after deduction of 15% programme fee. No fee refund will be given if a student cancels after closure of admission date.Students should know that in any case, the registration/application fee will not be refunded.
